‘Huojuu elämän puu’ is simultaneously a stage work, a concert and a performance that enables a communal gathering around poetry. The themes of peace, war, violence and freedom run through the performance.

The interdisciplinary performance highlights poetry as a visible social resource and features the work of twenty poets, from Katri Vala to Bo Carpelan and Eeva-Liisa Manner to Niillas Holmberg, with compositions and arrangements by Kaj Chydenius, Eero Ojanen, Anna-Mari Kähärä, Teea Aarnio and Antti Kujanpää.

The planning and realisation of ‘Huojuu elämän puu’ is by Marja-Leena Mikkola, author, Ulla-Maija Peltonen, docent, and five performers: Teea Aarnio, Kristiina Halkola, Vuokko Hovatta, Antti Kujanpää and Jussi Lehtonen.
